Donate blood and enjoy Ben n Jerry's Israel scoop

Ben and Jerry's brand is launching a new, first-of-its-kind collaboration with MDA's blood services. When donating blood in designated stands in Israel, you can enjoy a scoop of the beloved ben&jerry's ice cream - a Mitzva and something delicious in one pack.

Starting this week, to raise awareness of blood donation in Israel and encourage people to join the regular donors of the Magen David Adom pool.

It is not a secret that donating blood can save lives, and last year it was announced that there's a shortage mainly of type O blood units. Therefore, Ben and Jerry's joined forces with MDA, and in the coming year, they will open more and more blood donation stands with the company's ice cream stand in strategic locations.

The blood donation stands will be located in universities, shopping malls, and more, alongside a freezer with Ben and jerry's ice cream. After donating blood, you can go ahead and choose the flavor you prefer out of a selection of flavors.

The first stand will open on Tuesday, the 15 of November, at Dizengoff center mall in Tel Aviv. The ice cream is kosher by badatz mehadrin.

Roy Don, VP of marketing of Ben and Jerry's Israel, said: "We see great importance in raising blood donations, but not everyone sees the importance until the moment it gets critical to them or their family, so we decided to invest in this move. We believe we can make a difference by also raising awareness through a campaign that will launch on social media that will call the public to come and donate blood".

Prof. Ayelet Shinar, VP of blood services at MDA, said: "To maintain a proper blood supply in Israel, MDA blood services need to collect about 1,000 blood units from blood donors. We work to increase that supply and raise new donors in public sites, working places, universities, and crowded places. The collaboration with Ben&Jerry's will allow us to give a small and sweet scoop of ice cream as another way to say thank you for saving lives".
