טיול קסום בתמנע - A magical walk in Timna

 לפני כמה שנים עשינו טיול בארצות הברית וביקרנו בכמה פניני טבע מדהימים כפארק ציון וקניון ברייס, אולם לא צריך ללכת כזה רחוק, פנינה יפהפיה נמצאת קל"ב לבית - פארק תמנע.

A few years ago We traveled in the United states and visited some marvelous gems such as Zion national park and Bryce canyon, but you don't have to go that far, a beautiful gem awaits you in Israel - Timna park.

כל מי שנסע לאילת, עבר בדרך ליד הפסלים המצריים המובילים לפארק תמנע.
הנופים במקום מאוד מרשימים וניתן לטייל בפארק שעות על גבי שעות, אך כמובן חשוב להצטייד בהתאם: כובעים, מים, קרם הגנה, אווירה טובה ומצלמה :-) .

Anyone who traveled to Eilat, have passed the Egyptian statues leading to Timna park. The scenery here is just amazing and you can hike here for hours, but of course don't forget to take with you: hats, water, sunscreen, good spirit and a camera :-) .

הוזמנתי לסקר את הפארק והגעתי עם משפחתי ליום של כיף.
בפארק תמנע יש הרבה מאוד מה לראות, ולא ניתן להספיק ביום אחד.
תבחרו יום שהוא לא יותר מדי חם, ובואו לטייל בין קשתות אבן החול המרהיבות ועמודי שלמה שהינם יצירה טבע מדהימה.

I was invited to the park, so I went there to a day of fun with my family.

In Timna park there is plenty to see, and you can't see all in one day. Choose a day that isn't that warm and come and walk between the spectacular sandstone arches and Solomon's pillars whom are nature creation.

ליד מקדש הכורים לאלה המצרית חתחור, מטפסים במדרגות אבן, משקיפים אל הנוף ואז ממשיכים בטיפוס ומגיעים לתחריט מצרי עתיק של רעמסס השלישי.
לאחר מכן, המשכנו לטייל בשביל הקשתות, כשבאמצע כנראה שעברנו לשביל אחר ומעט מאתגר - היו עליות וירידות רבות בסולמות מתכת, טיפוס וירידה מסלעים, טיפוס במערה מעט חשוכה, ממש חוויה מדהימה עם נוף מהמם.
היו כמה פעמים שפחדתי קצת מכל מיני טיפוסים, ובאיזשהו שלב אחרי שטיפסנו בתוך המערה החשוכה, היה טיפוס נוסף לגובה רק יותר, אך הפעם אני ויתרתי (גם ככה הטיפוס במערה החשוכה היה לי קצת מפחיד, אז זה הספיק לי).  בינתיים ראיתי שהם הגיעו להר למעלה, ואני החלטתי שאני חייבת לרדת כמה שיותר מהר. מן הסתם היה כדאי שאחכה להם, אך באותו רגע פשוט רציתי לסיים עם זה שפשוט ניסיתי לרדת מהר. פחדתי ולפעמים הרגשתי שאני לא מסוגלת, אך ברוך השם הצלחתי.
אנחנו טיילנו ביום שהיה בין הימים החמים בשנה, אך בכל זאת החלטנו להצטייד היטב ולהסתובב באזור, מקום שכל ישראלי חייב לבוא ולבקר בו ולגלות את ארצנו היפה.

Near the miners temple to Hathor Egyptian goddess, you climb stone stairs, watch the beautiful views and then continue to see the ancient Egyptian engraving of the third Ramses.
Afterwards, we continued our trip to the archers path, but I guess we continued to another a bit challenging road - there were climbs and descents from metal ladders, climbs and descents from rocks, climbing in a bit of a dark cave, a real amazing experience with awesome views.
There were couple of times that I was afraid to climb or descent ladders, and at some point, after we climbed the ladder in the dark cave, I have decided to stay put and let my family continue the climbing on a very frightening ladder (I mean frightening height yikes!). Climbing the ladder in the dark cave was enough for me, so when they reached the top of the mountain, I have decided to start going back and go down the ladder. Not a good idea, but I was so eager to finish with it, that I just did it. I went down the ladder and was scared, but thank god it was okay.
We traveled in one of the warmest days of the year, but we still decided to get well occupied and go on this trip, and it is a place any Israeli should come and visit, see our beautiful country.

לפני כשנה, מנהלת הפארק חגית גל, גילתה באחת מאבני החול פיסול טבעי של דמות אנושית, ומאז החלה בפרויקט "תמנע בעלת 1000 הפרצופים". שמעתי ממנה ואף ראיתי ממגוון הפרצופים שהיא גילתה, ומדובר בממצא פשוט מרתק ומרהיב. קשה שלא להיתפס בהתלהבות של חגית, כאשר היא מדברת על המקום. את רוב הפרצופים גילו בקניון הורוד, שבעקבות כך שונה שמו ל"קניון הפרצופים".
אנחנו לא הספקנו הפעם להגיע לקניון, אך מצפה לכך בהזדמנות הבאה.

A year ago, the park's manager Hagit Gal have discovered a natural human statue on one of the sandstones, and ever since she started the "Timna's 1000 faces" project. I heard from her and also seen from the variety of faces she has discovered, and it is just a remarkable and fascinating finding. It is hard not to get carried away with Hagit's enthusiasm when she talks about the place. Most of the faces were found in the pink canyon, that now is called "the faces canyon".

We didn't visit the faces canyon, but I'm looking for it next time.

מחיר כניסה לפארק תמנע יעלה לכם כ-49 ש"ח לאדם. אני מקווה שיוסיפו אפשרות של לשלם מחיר לפי רכב או בתקווה שיש אפשרות לקנות כרטיס כניסה התקף לשנה המתאים לכמה פארקים, אך לדעתי זה יהיה מצויין. המחיר כולל ביקור בפארק ומילוי בקבוקי זכוכית בחול.
ניתן להנות כאן מעוד שבילים מדהימים, מכרות הנחושות מהעתיקים בעולם ומגוון תצורות סלעים מרשימות כמו הספינקס - תצורת סלע הדומה לדמות הניצבת ליד הפירמידות במצרים.
פעילויות נוספות שתוכלו להנות מהם בתשלום נוסף: סירות פדלים, סיור בשחזור מדוייק של אוהל מועד, טיולי אופניים, קמפינג ולינת שטח, סיורי לילה ועוד.
בקרוב צפוי להיפתח מרכז מבקרים חדש שהושקע בו כסף רב, אמפיתאטרון באזור האגם ועוד.
מקום מאוד מומלץ לביקור!

Entry price is 49 NIS for a person. I hope they will add the option of paying by car or if there's a way to buy an annually ticket to visit this park and other parks. The price is for the entrance and filling glass bottles with colorful sand.

You can enjoy here with other great hikes, from the ancient copper mines in the world and variety of rock formations such as the sphinx - a rock formation of the figure that stands near the pyramid in Egypt.

You can also enjoy with a cost other activities in the park such as: pedal boats, a tour in the reconstructed tabernacle, bicycle trips, camping, night tours and more.

Soon there will be a new visitors center that a lot of money was invested on it, amphitheater near the lake and more.

A very recommended place to visit!
