Not long ago, I was invited to review the new and first Ibis hotel in Israel that was launched in a central location in Jerusalem.
The Jerusalem hotel belongs to the Ibis red category with bold and modern colors of red, white, and black combined with wooden furniture, suited for the area.
The 124 rooms are sound-proof and were equipped with thoughtfulness and consideration to detail. We had a room with a vast and spacious bed of Ibis, bathroom with large shower and hairdryer machine; Smart TV connected to the Internet and variety of Hot channels, closet with hangers and a safe, air conditioning, a table with a little basket from the hotel, containing fruits, chocolates and a bottle of water.
Among the things that really impressed me was the power strip that also came with USB sockets, an idea that usually is lacking in hotels since everyone wants to charge their device, and of course, free WIFI throughout the hotel. We were on the second floor, and the WIFI worked great.
Just a perfect room for people who wants to enjoy the big city with a variety of attractions around, but also want to relax and rest.
After we settled in our room, we went to explore the area. The hotel is in a perfect location! You can travel the main street and enjoy the Jerusalem light rail and a variety of coffee shops and stores nearby.
In a short walking distance, you can get to Mamila mall and enjoy the time elevator, the tower of David, the music museum, and many other attractions and, of course, the remnant of our temple - the western wall.
Jerusalem is amazing, day and night, but what you see on daylight, is entirely different at night - if you travel in the evening, you'll see a whole new world. The various lights that decorate the street, the Mamilla Mall, and the surrounding area are just fascinating and adding extra magic to the place.
We arrived on the day that a new festival has started - sounds in the old city festival, so we got a great show.
A stay in the hotel comes with a breakfast which is served between 6:30-10:00 AM. The breakfast offers a variety of bread, cheese, vegetables, casseroles, cakes that go well next to the coffee from the machine, and cornflakes for your kids (or the kids in you :-) ).
The breakfast characterizes in a healthy and sophisticated way, with less unhealthy dishes that usually talk to children such as burekas. However, still, everyone enjoys the meal and will come out with a smile on their faces.
And if you haven't satiated, you can enjoy between 4:00-6:30 AM and 10:00 AM-12:00 PM hot drinks, juices, cakes, and pastries.
After we tried the variety of delights, we got another treat from the man in charge of the dining area - a beautiful Thessaloniki dish of bananas, honey, and cinnamon.
He told us that the hotel manager in Israel wanted to bring the Ibis brand in here with the same standards, so he flew all the way to Italy to make sure the hotel will have the same designs and finishing touches.
The only difference is the food. In the dining room, the hotel serves local food such as shakshuka, hummus, and labaneh, which intrigues and interests the tourists.
Besides, he told us that another 6-7 months a new Ibis hotel would be opened in the city center as well.
On the bottom line: Ibis city center in Jerusalem is a luxurious hotel on the heart of Jerusalem, just right for those who want to be near all the action and for people who come to do business at a reasonable price, including breakfast.
The hotel is trendy among tourists, so if you want a room, I suggest you take care of reservations in advance.
The hotel is located on 4 Izhak Elishar street, Jerusalem.
