The movie 1917, directed by Sam Mendes, has won two golden globe awards for best drama and best director, but that's not why we decided to go and check it out in the cinema.
There were times when a movie has won a significant award but turned out it was a real disappointment. And now? Well, you are welcome to keep reading.

The movie 1917 is a war drama movie that is portrayed through the eyes of two young British soldiers in world war I.
Lance corporal Blake (Dean-Charles Chapman) is called to the general alongside another team member of his choice, to go on a mission.
Blake chooses lance corporal Schofield (George Mackay), and together they set to the general to discover their assignment.

Blake is unaware of how this mission going to be challenging and will affect the lives of the two.
General Erinmore (Colin Firth) gives them a bold and dangerous task they didn't even dream of; The two soldiers must cross the enemy line and reach colonel Mackenzie which commands on a platoon of 1,600 people to stop him from making a huge mistake.

It seems as if this impossible mission that they are about to face could only end in one way - their lives or thousands of others' lives.
But Blake is not willing to give up, since his older brother, Lieutenant Joseph Blake, serves in the endangered battalion.

Just like video games / PlayStation games, where the leading character holds a rifle or a club and wanders in dark alleys where you can't see what's coming ahead (I still don't like playing this unexpected games). In the film, you get that same feel thanks to the unique camera angle that made the watching experience extra real, and you will feel like you are one of the characters in the movie.

The movie is thrilling throughout most of the scenes, and it will keep you on the edge of your seat with many fascinating, exciting, and emotional moments.
And the music, especially that folk song in the woods, passes the movie's atmosphere perfectly.

Throughout the movie, you will meet famous actors (Colin Firth, Mark Strong, Benedict Cumberbatch), with minor parts, but the highlight of the film are those not too familiar actors that play Black and Schofield, who play their roles outstandingly.

1917 is a highly recommended movie to watch on the theater's big screen, to get the maximal experience of the unique camera shots.
Movie length: 118 minutes (1 hour and 58 minutes)
My score: 9/10.
