In 2007, "Taste Of Home" magazine published a recipe of "Fudge Brownies" which took first place in one of their competitions.

For a long time now, I've wanted to make a brownie that will be dense and very much chocolatey - Like A Brownie Should Be. This recipe has met my expectations

Ingredients for 24 brownies

1 cup + 3 Tbs butter, in cubes (about 175g butter / 6.2oz.)
3/4 cup cocoa
4 eggs
2 cups of sugar
1 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract

for the topping (optional):

6 Tbsp. softened butter
2 2/3 cups icing sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/3-1/4 cup milk

Preparation:
Melt butter in a skillet or a microwave. Add the cocoa, mix and let the mixture sit 'till it's chilled.
Meanwhile, beat together the sugar and the eggs.

On a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Add the egg mixture gradually to the flour mixture. Add the vanilla extract and the cocoa mixture to the bowl. Blend and pour to a greased pan. Heat oven to 170C and bake between 25-28 minutes. 

My baking time was preciously 28 minutes. I didn't make the topping but if you want to, here's the recipe:
Beat butter, icing sugar, cocoa, and vanilla extract.
Add enough milk to the mixture to form a topping that can be spread. Spread on brownies and Bon Appetite.
