We eat Sufganiyot and other fried food at Chanukah because of the "Pach Ha'Shemen Miracle."
The Yevanim defiled every jug of oil that was used to lit the Menora in Bet Hamikdash, except for one little pitcher that they haven't seen.
This jug was supposed to last for one day only, but instead, it lasted miraculously for eight whole days!
Ingredients:
1/4 Tbs dry yeast
2 cups all-purpose flour
+/- 90 ml water (around 3 oz.)
1/4 Tbs salt
2 Tbs sugar
Oil for deep frying
For the filling:
Any chocolate bar cut into chunks
Preparation:
Mix the flour and the yeast. Add the salt and sugar and mix well.Little By little add water and knead to form a smooth and non-sticky dough.

Let the dough rest for 30 minutes. Later, divide the dough into small balls.
Flatten each ball and put a chunk of chocolate un the middle.
Close the ball again over the chocolate chunk.
Let it rest for 15 minutes and deep fry it. Serve as it is or with melted chocolate or icing sugar.
The measuring cup I used was a 180 ml (6.1 oz.) disposable cup.
