Edible chocolate snails

edible chocolate snail

I eat kosher, so I don't actually eat snails, but chocolate snails? Of course :-)

I wanted to make something special for Purim, one of the Jewish holidays,  and there you have it. An easy-to-make recipe that you'll enjoy making on your own or with your kids.

Ingredients:
Argaliot Osem (or other oval-shaped cookies)
white chocolate, cut into tiny stripes
A mixture of chocolate truffles (recipe below)

Preparation:
I've made chocolate truffle recipe from the "Al Hashulchan" ( = "On the table)"  cookbook.
Break 450 grams (15.9 oz.) of chocolate into small chunks.
Heat 250ml (8.5 oz.) whipping cream and pour it onto the chocolate.
Stir well until completely melted, and refrigerate overnight.

Prepare the snail:
Take an Argalit and cut its two edges.
Take a bit of the truffle mixture by hand and shape a long snake/pipe.
Put one side under the Argalit and the other side shaped like a snakehead. Now you have an edible snail with its tiny house on his back.
Place two white chocolate stripes on top of the slug's head to make his tentacles, and enjoy your edible chocolate snail.
