I love halva (Especially when eating halva and then drinking water - so good), and these halva fingers are so good.
I wanted to make something unique and came up with this mouthwatering pastry.
If you don't have any halva fingers, use regular halva, and cut into chunks.
You won't believe how good this is.
Vegan halva and chocolate giant finger pastry
Measurements were made using universal cups and spoons
Ingredients for three large fingers:
1 cup + 2 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup canola oil
1/4 cup tap water
3 halva fingers
3 rows (4 cubes each, or as long as the halva finger) of bittersweet chocolate
4 cubes bittersweet chocolate (Melt after baking)
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 180C/356F, Turbo.
Knead together the dough ingredients.
Roll to a rectangular, about 24CM (9.4 INCH) length, 12CM (4.7 INCH) height, and cut into three equal parts.
If the dough shrinks (and it probably will), just roll again, so it will fit the fingers.
Place a chocolate row on one of the parts, leaving a bit of an edge so you'll be able to cover the chocolate with the dough.
Place on top of the chocolate, the halva finger, and cover with the dough.
Roll into a roulade and continue with the rest of the dough.
Bake for about 20 minutes.
Melt the chocolate and drizzle on top of the fingers.
Enjoy!
I had to name this pastry fingers, although it is quite a large finger, right? But a giant's finger is still a finger :-)
Nevertheless, you ought to try this delicious chocolate and halve finger recipe. Great for vegans or when searching for a non-dairy sweet tooth.
I got to review a new Halva product from Achva factory - Halva fingers that come in various tastes and are under 100 calorie per finger.
