I love pies. They are the kind of food you can make in a matter of minutes and have a great, delicious meal. This pie recipe is a definite success - cauliflower onion pie!
This pie is dairy; however, you can omit the cheese and make this a non-dairy, pareve pie. I recommend using the cheese, but do as you prefer. This pie is great for Shavuot, the nine-days, or any day, really.
Cauliflower onion pie/recipe: con delight
I measured using universal cups and spoons
Ingredients for 23X32X5 cm/ 9X13X2 inches pan:
1 bag of frozen cauliflower, 600 grams/21 oz.
1/2 cup white flour, sifted
2 onion, chopped finely
1 teaspoon salt or according to flavor
a bit of black pepper
3 L eggs
1/4 cup canola oil or other vegetable oil
About 3 slices of low-fat 9% cheese or according to taste (can be omitted)
Preparation:
1.Preheat oven to 200C/392F, turbo/fan mode (If your oven is powerful, you can reduce to 180C/356F).
2.Cook the cauliflower in a pot without water on medium-low heat with a lid until it softens.
3.Transfer to a bowl and add the other ingredients, except the eggs and cheese, and mix.
4.Cut the cheese slices into small pieces and add it with the eggs to the bowl and mix well.
5.Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until ready.
6.Careful, it's hot. Enjoy!
