Ferrero, the beloved kinder chocolate manufacturer, launched the colorful app Applaydu for the whole family.
Ferrero developed the application in collaboration with the experts of Oxford university.
The free app provides a learning environment in a fun and friendly ambiance.
To celebrate the launch in Israel, I got this super cool package of Kinder brand.
So What's in the box, and what is the Applaydu app exactly?
Kinder brand is known for that surprise egg we know from our childhood. That perfect combination of tasty chocolate eggshell and the surprise hiding in that yellow egg.
The Applaydu developers, alongside Oxford experts, took the funniness of that surprise toy and incorporated it with the technology we have nowadays into an educational app.
The interactive app provides a fun time, all while learning.
You can find in the Applaydu app games such as memory games, racing games, book creating, puzzles, and more, while each game helps develop a different skill, whether it is reading, calculus, memory, concentration, motorics, etc.
The app has different levels of difficulties. To make it accessible for Israeli kids, Kinder translated the app to Hebrew as well.
The app was planned and developed in 2017 with Oxford's education division experts while applying their rich experience in the child development field.
That collaboration contributed to making the Applaydu app into an educational app that helps develop learning abilities, development, and memory in kids.
The app is free of commercials, and there are no in-app purchases. Also, the developers refrained from using the Kinder brand throughout the app, and in no way are they encouraging to collect or purchase the brand's products in the app.
They even made sure there is no reference to the word "surprise" inside the app.
Besides, the parents can enjoy control in the app. They can get use reports of their kids in the app. The reports include the time the kids spent in it, the games they played, and if they need help in suiting the difficulty level to their age.
The app has a shared play option to encourage togetherness. That's why the parent can click on the parents' icon, and guiding questions will appear and contribute to a joint conversation about what's happening on the screen.
This dialogue will encourage children to share their experiences with their parents. Thus, making it an enjoyable game that also contributes to quality time and improving skills.
According to the kids' global media report, Pwc 5-15 year-olds screen watch time in smartphones and tablets is 30% of the worldwide internet use. Meaning, they spend around 10 hours a week online.
It is an increase of 30% in the last four years and, of course, this data is without a reference to the Corona period where surfing hours have inflated.
Instead of letting the kids sit passively to watch videos, the Applaydu app invites the kids with their parents to enjoy the quality and educational content in the digital world.
The content combines the need for kids to play, and their parents' want to develop and learn.
I got a giant kinder egg box containing four Kinder Joy packs, where each egg has a pamphlet and a different character.
The pamphlets have a barcode that you can scan in the app and add a cute new character to play in the app's games.
