How can anything go wrong with pancakes, a mountain of whipped cream, and chocolate?!
I Ate this dessert on an Israeli restaurant called "coffee Jo," and I just had to make it at home.
These pancakes can be served as an excellent indulging breakfast, at a birthday party or to end a perfect romantic night.
Since this recipe is straightforward to make and easy to follow, kids can enjoy making pancakes too.
These pancakes can be made as small pancakes served in a bowl filled with chocolate cream and whipped cream in the middle or as a pancake mountain covered with chocolate cream and topped with whipped cream. No matter how you serve it, be confident it is a perfect pancake recipe.
These pancakes are not for one unless you're able to devour eight pancakes on your own :-)
So how to make the perfect pancakes? The Full recipe is found below.
Ingredients for 6 - 8 medium pancakes:
25 gram (0.88 oz.) melted butter
1 cup flour
pinch of salt
1 L egg
2 bags vanilla sugar (each bag weighs 10 gram / 0.352 oz.)
1 tsp. baking powder (optional)
Chocolate sauce:
1/4 cup whipping cream
50 gram (1.76 oz.) dark chocolate
Whipped cream:
1/2 cup whipping cream
1 Tbsp. powdered sugar
Preparation:
Mix the pancakes ingredients. Just until the mixture is blended, do not overmix.
Preheat pan until hot, lower the heat, and pour pancakes mixture.
If using a ring, spray the inside of the ring with oil spray so the mixture won't stick to the ring and then pour pancakes mixture inside.
Fry until bubbles are starting to show on the mixture, and the pancake can be easily flipped.
Once flipped, fry for another couple of minutes on the other side.
Melt the chocolate and cream together in a microwave-safe bowl and pour on the pancakes.
Whip together the whipping cream and powdered sugar and pipe.
The pancakes aren't sweet; the sweetness comes from the toppings. You can, of course, serve with maple syrup and other favorite toppings.
Bon Appetite :-)
